STABILIZATION OF THE EASTERN AND WESTERN LEDGES OF DAKAR, COASTAL PROTECTION OF THE ISLAND OF GOREE

Project

The overall objective of this mission is to carry out the technical studies (Preliminary design study; Detailed preliminary design study), to elaborate a tender document and to elaborate the terms of reference for the control of the works concerning the protection and stabilization of the coastline of the East-West cornices of Dakar. The protection works consist of:

  1. West Dakar Corniche - Cheikh Anta Diop University site: The construction of 6 rock breakwaters, semi-emerging, flattened and widened in crest. These breakwaters, implanted at depths of about 3 to 4 m, are about 80 m long each with a crest width of 18 m
  2. East Dakar Corniche - Anse Bernard cliff and beach: The construction of three rockfill barriers, of respective lengths 214 ml, 129 ml and 232 ml; and two rockfill groins of length 41 m each compartmentalizing the beach of Anse Bernard 3.
  3. Gorée Island: The works of coastal protection of the island consist in the development of a rockfill ring dike along the coastline of the island on 1300 ml, from the mosque through the old Fort d'Estrées, the house of slaves to the school Mariama Ba
